Counterfog was incorporated in 2019 as a spin off company from the European FP7 Counterfog project: Device for Large Scale Fog Decontamination.
Counterfog develops fast decontamination solultions for aerosols, airborne particulate matter, smoke, dust and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) agents. This decontamination technology is based on dynamic fog cones composed of submicron-sized liquid droplets that, when projected into the air, collapse air-borne CBRN agents posing them down onto surfaces. Counterfog is tha only certified technology capable of capturing SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) from the air (Certified by CSIC). Counterfog is also developing water treatment and purification systems, as well as technologies for optimization, monitoring, automation and control.
