The Open Market Consultation is the first step of THERESA’s Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP). It opens a dialogue between public healthcare buyers and market players — companies, researchers, and innovators — to explore the best available and emerging solutions for treating hospital wastewater.
During the consultation, the project shares its challenge and gathers feedback on technical, financial, and regulatory aspects to ensure that the upcoming tender is realistic, ambitious, and aligned with market capabilities.
The consultation will feature a hybrid launch event, online webinars, and an EU-wide questionnaire to collect insights from suppliers across sectors and countries.
By engaging early with the market, THERESA aims to foster innovation for sustainable on-site hospital wastewater treatment — solutions capable of removing pharmaceuticals, microplastics, pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance, while reducing energy use and environmental impact.
